Why We Care

When you challenge things in business (heck, in life...) things start to happen. We live to challenge and we love business.

We pioneered the global ceramic industry, our own Reginald Mitchell invented the spitfire, JCB was conceived in a tiny garage in Uttoxeter, we host two of the UKs largest theme parks, the Benedictine monks of Burton discovered how good our water was for producing superior strong ales and Arnold Bennett was the first author to write about the hard life faced by working people in English industrial towns.

The point is, we’ve achieved a lot but we think we’ve got a lot more to do if we’re going to maintain our claim as the “Creative County”.
